Land was granted to him as ea 2 CONC rly as 1646. In the latter part of his life he lived on what was known as Shaw's Hill. About nine o'clock in the evening in early November 167 2 CONC 5 an Indian was discovered passing from the barn about eight rods distant towards the house w 2 CONC ith fire in his right hand "in appearance about the size of an egg," and straw under his lef 2 CONC t arm. When he was about midway between the two buildings, he was fired upon from the house 2 CONT and he immediately fell. The straw took fire and blazed up, and by the light of it, another I 2 CONC ndian was seen running away between the fire and the barn. Thus their design was frustrated 2 CONC .
